Soccer School
Soccer School is open to all children, boys and girls from the years R to 7.
From Friday 9th April 2010 the Soccer School operates on Friday evenings at a new time at Shore Road Playing Fields, Hythe. Trainers and club officials will be present from 5.30pm to set up and organise. Soccer school starts at 5.45pm and continues until 7.00pm. Soccer school is run by Darren Taylor, assisted by Bryan Garvie. The Club has high expectations of good behaviour. Bad behaviour including foul language is not tolerated.
The essence of soccer school is to provide skill training in an atmosphere of fun. The children will normally be split into groups dependant upon ages and skills. The Club endeavours to provide a minimum of six coaches per session. The club coaches receive in house training and most are FA qualified.
The fee for each child is £2.00. All children are required to register at the beginning of each session for Child Protection and Health and Safety reasons. Registration takes place adjacent to the car park. Parents or guardians are required to remain at Shore Road to assist the children in the event of any injury or problems that arise. Many sessions have been attended by large numbers of kids and thus parent/guardian presence is essential to maintain order and safety.
Children suffering from ailments such as asthma should bring with them any inhalers or other aides as required.
Children should also bring sufficient drinks with them especially in the warmer months. The Club require all children to wear appropriate foot wear and shin pads. Blades are best when the ground is sufficiently soft to take them, but trainers are needed when the ground is hard. Boots with studs are not permitted on academy nights as they are prone to causing injuries. The coaches will advise attendees and if they feel there is a risk of injury to the child because of attire will retain the right not to train them.
Refreshments
A selection of hot and cold beverages are available for purchase on the night. There is also a selection of snacks and sweets available during Soccer School.
